The Climax of Colour – A Spectrum of Pigment Frequencies Chart
Da McLaren produces work of intense colour, with his pigment-pointillist Divine Geometry exhibition 2025, and his recent experiments with attenuated oil glazes.
Da now presents a new colour chart which took two years and a spectrophotometer to produce. It records the hue, value, and saturation of 90 different oil paints, many thinned out as glazes, showing the conditions where each paint attains its climax of colour.
Five hand-painted/printed charts on canvas will be available, providing a practical and beautiful spectrum map for appreciating and achieving sensational colour.
