Holly is a new artist to our gallery. Holly grew up in South London and worked as a sub-editor on DesignWeek magazine for many years before studying art. Holly has a BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton and BTEC Art and Design from Foundation City College, Brighton. Following several shows in England this is her first exhibition in New Zealand.
Her practice is concerned with the stroke: spreading one stroke of oil paint on top of another either to contrast colours or to ease the movement of the palette knife across the canvas or paper.
Holly Bazett is a painter of people present and people past.
Her paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2023 in London, England; and the Sussex Contemporary Exhibition 2022 and 2023 at Brightonâs i360 in Sussex, England.
